Step up to Year 13: a summer head start for Year 12 students

The transition from Year 12 to Year 13 can feel daunting — but it doesn’t have to be. Our Step Up to Year 13 programme is designed to give students the confidence, skills, and head start they need to begin their final A-Level year with momentum.

What Is Step Up to Year 13?

Step Up to Year 13 is a series of interactive summer workshops tailored for current Year 12 students who are preparing to start Year 13 in September. These sessions are ideal for students who want to make the most of their summer by revisiting key content, strengthening exam technique, and getting a preview of what’s to come.

What Subjects Are Offered?

We’re running subject-specific workshops for:

  • AQA and Edexcel Economics
  • AQA Computer Science
  • AQA English Language and Literature

Each workshop is designed to consolidate core Year 12 material while introducing topics and exam skills relevant to Year 13. Whether it’s refining essay technique or revisiting trickier Year 12 concepts, these sessions are practical, focused, and impactful.

Who Are the Workshops For?

Any Year 12 student who wants to use their summer wisely can benefit — whether you’re aiming for top grades, feeling a bit rusty, or simply want to reduce September stress.

How Big Are the Classes?

We keep our classes small and focused. Each session is capped at 10 students to ensure every learner gets the attention and support they need.

When Are the Sessions Running?

Each subject is offered on two different dates, with identical content covered in both. This allows for greater flexibility — just pick the date that works best for you.

How Do I Book a Place?

Booking is easy — just head to the link below to secure your place. Spaces are limited due to class size caps, so early booking is encouraged.

Who Leads the Workshops?

Our sessions are led by qualified UK teachers, each with a minimum of five years’ classroom experience. All tutors have up-to-date enhanced DBS checks and a deep understanding of both the curriculum and the challenges students face.

How Long Are the Sessions?

Depending on the subject, workshops run for 2–3 hours — compact and effective, without taking over the whole day.

How Can Parents Support at Home?

In addition to attending our workshops, students benefit from a supportive environment at home. Parents can help by:

  • Encouraging a few hours of pre-reading or revision
  • Having conversations about Year 13 goals and future plans
  • Exploring university or apprenticeship options
  • Identifying any challenging Year 12 topics for extra review

Are 1:1 Lessons Still Available This Summer?

Yes! Our regular 1:1 tuition continues throughout the summer. You can register on our website to arrange personalised support.
